Ready Set School

Education is the greatest gift we can give them. Our vision is to provide children with a head start in life by teaching them the most essential skills in reading, writing, spelling and numeracy through play based and explicit teaching sessions. Ready, Set, School serves as an introduction to Jollyphonics, a facilitative educational program that focusses on phonics, spelling, punctuation and grammar. The program is used throughout the St Barbara's classes.

We aspire for the children to have access to foundational learning experiences that set them up for success as they transition from the Ready Set School program to their ongoing education at St Barbara's.

The program has proven to be very successful for these young students through;

• Helping students establish friendships;
• Providing practice with school routines;
• Familiarisation with school environment and people; and
• Increasing the confidence and well-being of students.

Our popular Ready, Set, School program is available to children who are 4 years old, and are eligible to start school within two terms (one semester). 

Ready, Set, School is held Wednesday each week of the school term, and has two intakes each year - one in semester 1, and one in semester 2. Enrolled students will attend sessions over one semester in the following format;
